PMAA 4th Annual Logo Contest Winners Announced!
PMAA would like to acknowledge and thank the students who participated in this year’s logo contest. Their enthusiasm, hard work and thoughtful designs made the decision very difficult for the selection committee.
The two logos that were chosen will be used throughout the coming year in a variety of projects. Again, our appreciation goes to the many teachers and students who helped to make the contest a success this year.
The 2010 Logo Contest Winners are:
Autumn Siska – a 12th grader at Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center.
Artist’s Statement: “First in class we looked at previous winners and I got some ideas around the site. I saw that trees, leaves and water were all recurring parts. Then I drew some thumbnail sketches and chose the idea I liked the most and started to work it out in Adobe Illustrator. I chose the green leaf and water drop with text that looked cut out of the leaf because it was simple and got the point across without over crowding”. Autumn Siska

Samantha Plummer – a 10th grader at Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center.
“We had to do at least 10 thumbnail sketches. We picked what we thought was our best one. I thought mine was nice and simple”. Samantha Plummer

From the teacher: “We spent several weeks watching a video series on designing logos and practicing techniques. The contest was the perfect way to put what they learned into action.”
