For 70 years, the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA) has been the primary voice of community-based services representing the interests of more than 2,600 municipal authorities across the Commonwealth. Services provided by the association include advocacy on governmental affairs issues, education and training, and group programs.

PMAA is the largest association in the Commonwealth specifically representing the interests of municipal authorities.

Stormwater Authorities in Pennsylvania

Recognizing that Pennsylvania communities face increasing pressure to manage stormwater and protect residents from floods and pollution, the state legislature passed Act 68 in July, 2013. This law authorizes localities to create new stormwater authorities, or add stormwater responsibilities to any existing authorities that serve their residents.
