"As March is underway and the weather seems to be turning, let's pause to celebrate the achievements of women in all areas of accomplishment.

For thirty-eight years, I served my township as a board member on the Horsham Water and Sewer Authority and as its President for many years. It was so rewarding to work with a dedicated staff and board members through the years. Even better and more exciting to see more women join the team as board members, engineers, solicitors, and staff. I appreciated the leadership and resources from PMAA when our Authority was looking for guidance, training, and support. I was truly honored to serve as the second woman president of PMAA. As we celebrate Women's History Month, I hope we see more women getting involved in our industry as employees and board members.

To conclude I will share a favorite quote of mine: We as a society owe it to women to create a truly supportive environment in which they too can grow and move forward. - Princess Diana"

“March is Women’s History Month which coincides with International Women’ s Day on March 8th. Both milestones, currently and throughout history, have celebrated the achievements of women in social, economic, cultural, and political settings.

As a woman in a predominantly male oriented work environment and having a long history of involvement in various organization for many years, I have seen women take a more active role in leadership positions.

I am honored to be the first woman president of PMAA, but even more delighted by the fact that other women have followed me. As we celebrate women throughout this month remember the words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg - “Whatever you choose to do, leave tracks. That means don’t do it just for yourself. You will want to leave the world a little better for your having lived.”

I appreciate that PMAA has taken the lead in organizing the WIN forum - Women, Innovation Networking - which also celebrates the achievements of women in various careers. This platform supports women in business while exploring opportunities for growth and development.

By supporting and promoting others we all become a more successful and stronger society. My hope is that as we focus on women throughout the month of March it brings into focus the accomplishments of many women throughout the year.”
