Future Leaders Mentorship
The PMAA Future Leaders Committee has created the Mentorship Program to identify, engage, encourage and mentor emerging industry leaders.
The program pairs mentors (experienced industry leaders) with mentees (those new to the industry) to interact and engage on topics of interest. Participants include board members, administrators, operators, engineers, and professional service providers.
The program begins with a kickoff meeting in January (held virtually). One-on-one interactions are scheduled with a different mentor-mentee pairing each quarter of the year. The quarterly meeting can be held at a mutually agreeable time and location for the mentor-mentee (including virtually). Finally, a wrap up meeting will be held in December.
The goal is to provide exposure to a variety of different persons (and resources) by suggesting both mentor-mentee pairings that share similar experiences and responsibilities, and then also pairings that are very different to allow individuals to see other sides of the industry.
Evaluations are provided at several points in the year to gauge goals and progress, but the time commitment for the full program is generally about 6-8 hours. Opportunities exist for added networking including at the PMAA Annual Conference.
Mentees will walk away with new relationships and mentors they can reach out to in the future.
